Resource Centre
Our resource centre allows you to purchase or borrow specialist resources on a loan basis, which includes subjects and topics such as sustainable development, citizenship education, international partnerships, challenging cultural stereotypes.
The LGEC Resource Centre is open by appointment times between Monday and Thursday from 9.30 am - 5 pm. Resources are loaned out for 6 weeks and you can borrow up to 6 resources at a time. Community Groups
As well as topic boxes, tailored to provide information to community groups on all aspects of community development and involvement, we have the FunderFinder software which helps groups locate sources of funding for their activities (staff are on hand to help with this). We also offer a resources outreach service to community groups (particularly in the East Preston area). We can bring relevant resources out to your group - as well as FunderFinder and help and advise on producing community newsletters and other publicity materials.
Youth and Community Workers We have games videos, magazines and books that can help youth and community leaders bring a global dimension to their work.
We have resources on the following topics:
- Community Development including - getting people involved, roles and responsibilities in community groups, community gardening, setting up a food co-op, youth work ideas, funding etc.
- Anti-racist & anti sexist resources
- Teaching packs on different countries, citizenship, sustainability, music from around the world, co-operative games etc.
- Human rights
- Poverty
- World Faiths

Teachers
We have numerous teaching packs linked to the National Curriculum, as well as artefacts from different countries which help bring learning alive. You can download lists of resources which we have available for sale and loan from the Resources Lists page.
