Teaching With Artefacts

Artefacts are enjoyable because children can handle them, providing direct stimulus to the senses and provoking discussion, deduction and questioning. Artefacts can help develop a sense of commonality with others in very different places by:

  • Arousing interest to start a topic or activity.
  • Giving relevance to the topic being followed.
  • Deepening a child's understanding.
  • Developing sensitivity.
