The North West Global Education Network was an eight-year project supported by the Department for International Development's Enabling Effective Support Programme. NWGEN's vision was 'a global education for every child'. The project aimed to support teachers through the North West to include a global dimension in their work.
NWGEN came to an end in August 2010. Within these web pages, you will find further information about NWGEN's activities and resources developed through the years.
Here are a few key links of interest:
- In 2010 NWGEN commissioned an external evaluation of schools cluster work - you can download it here NWGEN_External_Evaluation_Final_Report_2010.pdf
- global-dimensions_edition3_.pdf Have a look at global dimensions magazine with stories from teachers about how they are use a global dimension in their school. Back issues of magazines and newsletters are also available.
- 5 minute film about how two schools are using the Global Dimension to support their teaching and learning. This was originally produced for the NAHT conference, May 2008.
The Global Learning Network for the North West is a new initiative developing from NWGEN, aiming to develop and support global learning in teaching, learning and training across the region. LGEC organised a well attended scoping event on 12th October 2010. More details from the day will be posted soon.
