To become a member, simply download and print a membership form, complete it and return it to us by fax or post.

Membership runs annually from 1st September to 31st August. If you join between September and May, your membership will run until the following September. If you join between June and August, your membership will run until September of the following year (e.g., if you join in June 2010, membership will be due for renewal 1st September 2011).

You can pay by cheque (payable to LGEC), cash or standing order--though if you choose to pay by standing order it substantially reduces our administration costs. A standing order form is included with the membership application, so please consider it! (Please note: We can provide an invoice for schools and organisations upon receipt of your application.)

There are four different categories of membership, and each has different rates:

• Associate Membership
  Resource centre use only.
  Cost: £5 waged, £3 unwaged
• Full Individual Membership
  LGEC newsletters, resource centre use, invitations to LGEC events, and voting rights.
  Cost: £15 unwaged, £7 unwaged
• Group Membership
  LGEC newsletters, resource centre use (entitles all members of the group to use the library), invitations to LGEC events; and voting rights.
  Cost: £20
• School Membership
  LGEC newsletters; advice for work around school linking, citizenship, sustainable development education, Philosophy for Children, etc.; resource centre use (entitles all staff from the school to use the library); invitations to LGEC events; and voting rights.
  Cost: £25
